METHOD FOR PREVENTING STREAK DEFECT OF COATED PAPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent remarkable operation loss caused by the stop of the proc ess in the calendering treatment of a coated paper owing to the damage of the elastic roll of the calender to necessitate frequent replacement of the roll by remarkably decreasing the damage on the roll with color scum to reduce the roll cost and the operation loss caused by the replacement of the roll. SOLUTION: A nozzle for ejecting a high-speed air stream is placed on the traveling path of a continuous paper between a coater and a calender to remove the color scum attached to the part near both edges of the continuous paper.
