HIGHLY DAMPING RUBBER COMPOSITION AND BASE-ISOLATION STRUCTURE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly damping rubber composition hard to deteriorate its physical properties caused with reversion by overvulcanized, and to provide a base-isolation structure using the rubber composition. SOLUTION: This highly damping rubber composition is obtained by compounding 100 pts.wt. of a rubber component with 40-100 pts.wt. of silica, sulfur and a thiuram vulcanization promoter. The base-isolation structure is obtained using the rubber composition. Use of the thiuram vulcanization promoter in the silica compounded highly damping rubber composition enables the reversion of the composition to be suppressed; wherein the thiuram-based vulcanization promoter is preferably tetrakis(2-ethylhexyl)thiuram disulfide.
