PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front panel device of on-vehicle electronic equipment having good usability capable of automatically stopping a movable nose in the middle of a closed position and an opened position despite of a low cost structure which disuses a driving motor for opening and closing movement of the movable nose. SOLUTION: The front panel device includes a front part 1 on an equipment body side having a CD loading and ejecting slot 1a and an MD loading and ejecting slot 1b, the movable nose 2 having a display screen 2a and movable between the closed position for covering the front part 1 and the opened position for exposing the front part 1, a locking means for holding the movable nose 2 in the closed position, a driving gear 4 connected to the movable nose 2 through a link member 3, a gear 5 with a damper for meshing with a teeth part 4a of the driving gear 4, and an extension spring 6 of which one end part is hooked with the driving gear 4 for elastically energizing the driving gear 4 in a direction for returning to a predetermined rotation position. The driving gear 4 pulled by the extension spring 6 and held in the predetermined rotation position holds the movable nose 2 in a predetermined inclining position between the closed position and the opened position.
