PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold enabling to be stably used for a long period without causing falling off of silicon carbide particles. SOLUTION: This mold used in a press molding is constituted of a silicon carbide base and a silicon carbide laminate which is laminated on the silicon carbide base by CVD method and provided with a molding part contact with a material to be pressed, where the thickness of the processed brittle layer is <=1μm.
