PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the dispersibility of a colorant and other components of a toner when they are dissolved or dispersed in an organic solvent in a method for producing the toner in which the components of the toner are dissolved or dispersed in the organic solvent, emulsion-dispersed in an aqueous medium and flocculated to the toner size, the organic solvent is removed before or after the flocculation and particles are drawn from the aqueous medium, to provide an electrophotographic toner having good dispersibility of a colorant and other components of the toner in the toner after a flocculation step and to provide a method for producing the toner. SOLUTION: Toner materials including a bonding resin and a colorant are melted, kneaded and dissolved and/or dispersed in an organic solvent in which the bonding resin can be dissolved or swollen and the resulting solution and/or dispersion is emulsion-dispersed in an aqueous medium and flocculated to obtain the objective electrophotographic toner. |
