PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen manufacturing plant capable of cheaply manufacturing hydrogen using by-produced methane gas as a raw material and saving energy and the method for the hydrogen production. SOLUTION: The hydrogen manufacturing plant 1 consists of a pretreatment unit 20 which pretreats by-produced methane gas containing acetylene generated as a by-production in an ethylene manufacturing process 10 and a hydrogen manufacturing process 30 which manufactures hydrogen using the by-produced methane gas which is treated in the pretreatment unit 20 as a raw material, the pretreatment unit 20 has the screw compressor 21 which pressure sends the by-product methane gas, gathering a by-product methane, and a hydrogenation apparatus 22 which hydrogenates acetylene in the pressure fed, by-product methane gas. Since acetylene is hydrogenated and the acetylene is not contained in the by-product methane gas after hydrogenation, the deposition of carbon can be prevented, and the by-product methane gas is available as the raw material of the hydrogen manufacturing. |
