PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing quarts glass with which high productivity and high yield are attained, without environmental pollution by impurities derived from refractory. SOLUTION: This apparatus for producing quarts glass is provided with an oxygen/hydrogen flame burner 4 for producing molten glass from supplied raw materials. A storing container 6 is composed of refractory less polluted with metals and storing the molten glass to make quarts glass block. An insulated furnace body 5 is housing the storing container 6 and an electrode 11 installed between the insulated furnace body 5 and the storing container 6 and on which high voltage is applied.
