PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat transfer pipe excellent in its heat transfer characteristics and efficiently carry out a heat exchange between fluid flowing in the heat transfer pipe and the outer part of the heat transfer pipe. SOLUTION: A flat plate type spiral fin 3 is inserted into a material pipe 1 having an inside diameter substantially equal to the width of the fin 3. While the fin 3 is inserted into the pipe, one or a plurality of spiral grooves 4 are formed on the wall surface of the material pipe 2. Both the side edges 5 of the fin 3 come into contact with the inner peripheral surface 6 of the material pipe 2.
