PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water shut off sheet for civil engineering use excellent in adhesion to a hydraulic material such as concrete, cement or mortar in a wide temperature range from low to high temperatures, therefore capable of favorably performing a water shut off for tunnel wall surface or the like, and to provide a water shut off work for tunnel wall surface using the above sheet. SOLUTION: This water shut off sheet has surface consisting of a composition comprising (A) an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer 80-99 mass% in vinyl acetate unit content and (B) a 2nd ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer 50-70 mass% in vinyl acetate unit content in the mass ratio A/B of 0.2-5, optionally a 2nd version of the composition wherein polyvinyl alcohol is graft-polymerized to or included in the above ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, or optionally a 3rd version of the composition additionally containing an inorganic filler. The other objective water shut off work involves using the above sheet.
