PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insert nut, which achieves coming-off protecting effect and rotation protecting effect after it is assembled in a subject member to be fastened, and which can be assembled even to a thin subject member. SOLUTION: This insert nut is assembled with the subject member to be provided for engagement with a screw. It comprises a nut part 3 in which the screw can be engaged, leg parts 4 and 4 continuously provided with the nut 3 to be inserted along a hole in the subject member, and lock claws 5 and 5 provided on the leg parts 4 and 4 to elastically get in contact with the subject member for biting the subject member as the screw is engaged with the nut part 3. This insert nut is composed of plate material having elasticity. Width of a rectangular flange part 2 continuously formed with the nut part 3 is set to be a nominal diameter of the screw engaged with the nut part 3 added by twice or four times the plate thickness of the plate material.
