PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extensively usable attitude angle detector dispensing with any external auxiliary senor as a reference, by relaxing restrictions on the place and environment of use, and by saving labor for changing detectors even when the direction of detection is changed in the course of operation. SOLUTION: This device for detecting the attitude angle of a movable body has a detection means capable of detecting angular velocity components and acceleration components in the directions of at least two axes together with earth magnetism, a means for computing a motion angle, a stationary angle, and an attitude angle based on the outputs thereof, and a detection direction converting means capable of setting the direction of detection in an arbitrary direction according to the manner of installation or use of the detector.
