PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition effective for prevention or treatment of dermatoses such as chapped skin and coarseness, skin keratinization abnormality, oral disease, eye disease, ulcer, malignant tumor, inflammatory disease, circulatory disease, neurodegenerative disease, eczema and the like. SOLUTION: This composition is e.g. a preparation for external use for skin bleaching, pimple ameliorating and the like, a pharmaceutical composition for preventing retinal detachment and the like or a cleansing agent composition for preventing eczema and the like, comprises a specified retinoic acid derivative as the active ingredient and is characterized by that the retinoic acid derivative contains >=0.5% cis form stereoisomer and so the composition is improved in compatibility with pharmaceutical preparations.
