PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reformer capable of being miniaturized and reducing a heat radiation loss. SOLUTION: The reformer removes CO in reformed gas by oxidation after a source fuel is steam-reformed to hydrogen rich gas by a reforming catalyst. A cooling section for reformed gas 2 which cools the reformed gas supplied to the CO oxidation section 1, is prepared in the oxidation section 1 filled up with the CO oxidation catalyst 7 which removes CO in the reformed gas by oxidation. Water supplied to the catalyst which reforms a source fuel into reformed gas and used for a reaction is heated by the heat recovered from the CO oxidation section 1 and the reformed gas cooling section 2. Therefore, it becomes unnecessary to connect the cooling section for the reformed gas 2 which cools the reformed gas and recovers the sensible heat, with the CO oxidation section 1 which removes Co in the reformed gas by oxidation. |
