PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous ink jet recording ink having reduced color bleeding even when recorded on a plain paper sheet. SOLUTION: This aqueous ink jet recording ink comprises at least water, a colorant, an acetylene glycol-ethylene oxide adduct, and two or more polyoxyalkylene glycol-n-alkyl ethers. At least one of the polyoxyalkylene glycol- n-alkyl ethers is a polypropylene glycol-n-butyl ether having three or more propylene oxide units.
