PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize feeding of speed change which is along a driver's intension by appropriately determining the type of downshift. SOLUTION: A downshift type determining means 21c for determining that the downshift is a downshift directed to a downshift action with a few or shocks or that the downshift is a downshift directed to a downshift action regarding a response as important, based on an input from a sensor, DTM and DTP, are provided; and a release side control means controls an oil pressure of a hydraulic servo for friction engagement element becoming the release side, based on the type of a downshift DT determined by the downshift type determining means, to selectively carry out a selection of a plurality of release patterns (for example, release patterns corresponding to the downshift type index DT, as shown in Fig. 10) by the friction engagement element. The releasing speed of the friction engagement element at the release side is varied, corresponding to the type of the downshift and the feeling of speed change along the driver's intension can be realized by appropriately determining the type of the downshift. |
