PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid leakage sensor capable of improving both the handling and the reliability of sensing liquid leakage. SOLUTION: The liquid leakage sensor 12 employs a sensing section 36 being disposed at a region for sensing leakage 22 and having a prescribed refractive index. Inspecting light is projected to the boundary between the sensing section 36 and the region for sensing leakage 22, and sensing liquid leakage is carried out based on the change of quantity of reflecting light caused by difference between refractive indices at the boundary. The sensing section 36 is formed like an approximate bar and composed of a side section disposed on the region for sensing leakage 22, an incidence edge formed to allow the inspecting light to enter the sensing section 36, and an emittance edge formed to obtain the light that enters the sensing section 36 from the incidence edge and propagates along the sensing section 36 while repeating the reflection at the boundary between the side section of the sensing section 36 and the region for sensing leakage 22. |
