摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow measurement suitable for vegetables and fruits while conveying the vegetables and fruits on a conveying line, prevent a device and a facility for the measurement from getting expensive so much, and allow the quick and precise measurement irrespective of kinds and outside diameters of the vegetables and fruits. SOLUTION: Two abutting plates 2, 3 as abutting members are brought into contact with a surface part of the vegetable or a fruit A, the surface part of the vegetable or fruit A is oscillated by an oscillator 4 via the plate 2, and vibration in the surface part of the vegetable or the fruit A is detected by acceleration sensors 6, 7 via the plates 2, 3. A frequency f is specified within a band of 75-100 Hz or 135-340 Hz, the transfer function F(f)=Log (detected vibration energy E0 /oscillation vibration energy Ei ) is calculated based on the oscillation vibration energy Ei and the detected vibration energy E0 for a specified frequency f. The hardness of a sarcocarp in the vegetable or the fruit A is measured based on the transfer function F(f).
