PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material having high- contrast gradation, ensuring enhanced sensitivity and enhanced stability of fog density in long-term storage and having improved film adhesion. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material has a photosensitive layer containing photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt and a reducing agent capable of reducing the organic silver salt on one face of the base, the principal binder of the photosensitive layer is a hydrophobic binder, the photosensitive material has a backing layer on the other face of the base and the binder of the backing layer is a hydrophilic binder.
