PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small original platen driving mechanism which can detect the occurrence of the movement trouble of an original platen. SOLUTION: A film carrier 38 is provided with an original platen 126 which holds a photographic film and is slidable, a feed screw 130 to transmit moving force to the original platen 126, a hand knob 140 rotating linked with the feed screw 130, a detection plate 139 in the shape of a rib formed at the peripheral part of the hand knob 140, and a sensor 141 to measure the number of rotations of the detection plate 139. Thereby, the small film carrier 38 with which the occurrence of the movement trouble of the original platen can immediately be detected, is realized.
