PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detector with high accuracy and a high speed of responsiveness, a positioning device using the position detector, and a working device mounted with the positioning device. SOLUTION: This position detector is equipped with an eccentric disk 11 mounted on a decentered position of a rotary shaft 1 and a pair of sensors 13 and 14 disposed along the outer-circumferential direction of the disk 11 to measure the distances to the disk 11. The distances between the disk 11 and the sensors 13 and 14 continuously change with the rotation of the disk 11, and the outputs of the sensors continuously change with the rotation of the shaft 1. By providing the plurality of sensors 13 and 14, the rotative direction of the disk 11 can be recognized and therefore the rotational position of the shaft 1 can be rapidly detected with high accuracy based on the outputs of the sensors 13 and 14 and the rotative direction thereof.
