PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tray positioning device for accurately positioning a tray, and to provide a recording device provided with the same. SOLUTION: When positioning one side 110a of a tray 110 for housing the recording medium along the predetermined reference surfaces 104a and 104b, turning shaft parts 11a and 11b are provided in the one side of the tray, and the side surface of the tray is energized to generate a moment for making the turning shaft parts abut on the reference surfaces. With this structure, the tray is turned around the turning shaft parts, and even if a displacement of the tray in relation to the reference surfaces is generated, the displacement is eliminated to improve the accuracy in positioning of the tray, and the generation of skew of the printing paper sheets to be fed can be prevented.
