PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording head and its manufacturing method in which an orifice plate formed of a fluorine-based resin or an orifice plate having a fluorine-based resin layer formed to a surface is used, and the surface is treated to be rendered super water-repellent. SOLUTION: The orifice plate has at least one face side formed of the fluorine-based resin, and the surface of the one face side is treated to be water repellent more than a bulk material of the fluorine-based resin itself. A surface of the other face side of the orifice plate is made more hydrophilic than the bulk material of the fluorine-based resin itself. A content of fluorine atoms of the surface of the one face side treated to be rendered water repellent is made larger than a content of fluorine atoms of the original fluorine-based resin not treated to be rendered water-repellent.
