PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens for an optical recording and reproducing system capable of performing very high density information recording by decreasing the thickness and the capacity of the lens. SOLUTION: This lens for an optical recording and reproducing system is constituted of an incident surface S1 on which light generated from a light source is made incident, a 1st reflection surface S2 on which the light passing through the incident surface S1 is reflected and a 2nd reflection surface S3 on which the light reflected from the 1st reflection surface S2 is reflected again and the 2nd reflection surface S3 is an ellipsoidal surface, and the 1st reflection surface S2 and the 2nd reflection surface S3 are coated with reflection substance. |
