<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe joint enabling the connection and disconnection of a plug to be carried out by a simple operation and preventing an accidental disconnection, and ensure the shut-off of a fluid channel by means of a valve element and the securement of an adequate area of the channel when it is communicated. SOLUTION: The pipe joint comprises a female body with a peripheral groove for a sealant to be fitted therein, formed on the inner surface, a socket and a sleeve for supporting a locking member to be fitted into an annual groove on the surface of a male plug, a spring material energizing the sleeve, and an external tube for covering the spring material. The female body, the socket, the spring material and the sleeve are arranged in series in that order. By providing a space in the external tube for the locking member to move when the spring material is contracted and when the male plug is disconnected, the male plug can be connected and disconnected.</p> |
