PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating roll that is appropriate for even on demand fixing while retaining the effect of a great increase in pressurizing force of a heat roll type. SOLUTION: In the heating roll used for a fixing device in an electrophotographic process, a layer 1-1 consisting of porous ceramic provided with electrical resistance, a conductive layer 1-2 and a layer 1-3 consisting of material with good mold release ability are formed in sequence on the outside of a conductive core metal 1-5 as a shaft. In this case, the layer 1-1 consisting of the porous ceramic generates heat by having current fed between the conductive layer 1-2 and the core metal 1-5.
