PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a device for pressing valve disk against valve seat being too large in the conventional pendulum type gate valves. SOLUTION: This pendulum type gate valve comprises a first roller guide groove formed into a valve disk 5, a valve support fixed to the free end of a rod 6 relatively moved to a valve disk, having a second roller guide groove formed therein, a first roller 12 engaged with the first and second roller guide grooves, a third roller guide groove 17 formed in the valve support, a receiving plate 15 which is relatively moved by the valve support to form a fourth roller guide groove, a second roller 18 engaged with the third and fourth roller guide grooves, and a stopper for regulating the movement of the valve disk. The fist roller guide groove is a long hole, extended downwardly in the diagonal direction in the direction separating from the valve seat, the second roller guide groove is a long hole, extended upwardly in the diagonal direction in the approaching direction to the valve seat, and the third roller guide groove is a long hole extended downwardly in the diagonal direction in a separating direction from the other opening in a valve casing.
