PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyphenyleneethynylene having a dendrone side chain, given improved solubility and compatibility in a polar organic medium, and an absorbing ability of longer wave-length ultraviolet-ray such as 365 nm luminescent area of mercury lamp, etc. SOLUTION: A dendrone residual group having an aromatic polyether ketone structure, is bonded to the polyphenyleneethynylene through one oxygen atom in its focal point end. A thin-film type molded product is composed of the polyphenyleneethynylene, having the dendrone side chain, that is coated on a substrate. The production of the thin-film type molded product is carried out by coating a solution containing the polyphenyleneetylenine having the dendrone side chain on the substrate in shear-supplying condition to one direction.
