METHOD FOR CONTROLLING TRANSMISSION OF REVERSE LINK IN MOBILE SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for controlling the transmission of a reverse link in a mobile system is provided to present a method that a mobile station transmits its own state information to a base station so that the base station can efficiently use a reverse channel through the received state information. CONSTITUTION: A mobile station monitors an RAB(Reverse Active Bit) that indicates the complexity of a reverse link(100). If the RAB is detected, the mobile station checks whether the detected RAB is 1(102). In case that the detected RAB is not 1, the mobile station checks an IAB(Increase Available Bit) in order to confirm whether it is possible to increase an RRI(Reverse Rate Indicator) symbol. If the IAB is 0, the mobile station executes a persistence test(104). If the mobile station succeeds in the persistence test, the mobile station increases a reverse TX rate(106). Then the mobile station compares the increased TX rate with the maximum TX rate(108). In case that the increased TX rate is larger than the maximum TX rate, the mobile station sets the increased TX rate as the maximum TX rate(110).
