Method and system for managing unicast and multicast audio communications using Internet protocol

A signal processor (30) is connected to a network interface to decompress and depacketize received audio signal. An audio mixer (40) mixes the audio signals from the processor at different levels. An audio channel controller (70) dynamically allocates an audio signal to the processor and to indicate the allocated channel to the mixer. A message controller (60) is connected to the channel controller to carry out unicast and multicast communication. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) Internet protocol transmission control method; and (2) Unicast or multicast communication control method.
