PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manually controlling a driving and/or lifting gear device for a hoisting machine compact in size and easy to operate. SOLUTION: An operation element 14 is connected to a control element 2 via a link mechanism 23, energized in both directions by helical springs 12, 13 and held in position. Th helical spring 12 also energizes a push rod 11 for holding a ball 9. The ball 9 thus abuts on an inner face 6a of a ceramic plate 7. A bridge circuit having an electric resistance is attached to a sensor surface 6 of the ceramic plate 7. When force is applied to the control element 2 by the hand of an operator, the force is transmitted to the sensor surface 6 via the operation element 14, the helical spring 12, the push rod 11, the ball 9 and the inner face 6a and then the bridge circuit outputs an electric signal corresponding to the size and direction thereof to permit the movement of a cargo to move.
