PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly measure a degree of contamination of gas even if NOx gas contained in sample gas is a mixture of NO gas and NO2 gas. SOLUTION: A semiconductor type gas detecting element 2 has a sensitive layer having an indium oxide semiconductor as a main component, covering a noble metal wire. A salt of at least one metal selected from cobalt(Co), nickel(Ni), and palladium(Pd) is impregnated in the sensitive layer.
