PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for enhancing the quality of a print image while avoiding contact of a print head with a print medium. SOLUTION: Since the platen gap can be adjusted by moving at least one of a print head and a platen supporting a print medium relatively depending on the deflection information concerning to deflection of the print medium such that the print medium faces a plurality of nozzles in the print head, accuracy of the dot forming position can be enhanced by decreasing the platen gap within a range where the print head does not touch the print medium and thereby the quality of print image can be enhanced.
