PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lock a plurality of drawers having no locking mechanisms by making it possible to provide a mechanism for easily individually locking them. SOLUTION: This locking device 1 for preventing opening of the drawer which can be opened and closed in the forward direction of a desk body includes: an engagement element 7 fixed to the desk body at a position near the edge of the drawer where it does not interfere with the opening and closing movements of the drawer; a locking means 9 having an engagement part 29c to be fitted into the engagement element 7 and located on the front surface of the drawer for regulating the opening movement of the drawer by means of a back plate; a latch 27 provided at the engagement part 29c of the locking means 9 for engaging the engagement element 7 when the engagement part 29c is fitted into the engagement element 7 to preclude removal of the engagement part 29c from the engagement element 7; a disengaging means 25 provided at the locking means 9 for disengaging the latch 27; and a key 32 for operating the disengaging means 25.
