PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for piecing which uses a simple construction, and is capable of surely preventing reverse winding in drawing out a yarn, and to provide a piecing device. SOLUTION: This method for piecing comprises drawing out a yarn Y by reversing a wound package P, drawing the yarn Y into a piecing section while suckingly reserving it in a sucking/reservoir 2 and piecing therein; wherein yarn passage is bent in the direction of leaving the yarn from the suction port of the sucking/reservoir 2 so as to eliminate yarn loosening when drawing out the yarn Y from the wound package P. A reverse winding R is not caused owing to the elimination of loosening the yarn Y.
