PURPOSE: A device for protecting filler in ladle is provided which prevents the filler from washing away by molten steel by shutting off molten steel in advance during receiving molten steel from a converter. CONSTITUTION: The device for protecting filler(50) in ladle(100) is installed on the bottom between a molten steel falling part and a wall block of the ladle(100) and comprises a refractory cutoff plate(10), the cutoff plate is formed in an arc shape, the cutoff plate is spaced apart from the wall block in a distance of 50 to 300 mm, the cutoff plate has height of 50 to 200 mm, thickness of 20 to 150 mm and arc angle of 30 to 140 degrees, and the cutoff plate(10) consists of an indeterminate refractory material comprising 82 to 94 wt.% of Al2O3, 5 to 15 wt.% of MgO, 1 to 3 wt.% of CaO and 1 to 3 wt.% of stainless fiber.
