PAPER, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME PAPER AND SUPPORT FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC PAPER USING THE SAME PAPER AS BASE PAPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sheet of paper having remarkably improved sizing effects in spite of the use of the same amount of a sizing agent and a support for photographic paper using the sheet of paper for enabling stable operation and suppressing the penetration of a developer from an end without adversely affecting a photographic emulsion when both surfaces of the support are coated with a polyolefin resin and converted into the support for the photographic paper. SOLUTION: An alkylketene dimer sizing agent emulsion having an emulsion average particle diameter exceeding 1.00μm is added to a pulp slurry to form the sheet of paper. The alkylketene dimer is preferably cationic and has <=3.50μm average particle diameter. Furthermore, a polyamidopolyamine epichlorohydrin resin is used in combination in the pulp slurry at pH <=8.5.
