PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector device in which the interference between a quartz panel and a projection lens is capable of being eliminated and hence optical conditions required for the projection lens are relieved and further both small sized and high definition are achieved even when the quartz panel is made small and has a high definition. SOLUTION: In the projector device, the emitted light from a light source part 110 is incident upon a means 120 for color separation and synthesis and then is color-separated. The separated color lights are each made incident upon reflection type quartz panels 151 to 153, and the reflected lights thus obtained are introduced into a means for color separation and synthesis 120 and then are synthesized, and the obtained synthesized light is incident upon a projection lens 160 and then is projected. The means for color separation and synthesis 120 is equipped with a polarizing beam splitters 121 to 124 having polarized light separating planes which are orthogonal to each other. Three main faces out of four main faces, which are adjacent to each other, of the polarizing beam splitters 121 to 124 are provided with respective quartz panels 151 to 153 and the last main face is provided with the projection lens 160. |
