PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preset registration data issuing unit in a printer and a issuing method, capable of printing data to be printed of the same format or data to be printed using a format without the need of inputting the preset registration number of preset registration data or even in the case the user has forgot the number. SOLUTION: This unit comprises a bar code reader 25 for reading a bar code B printed on a printing medium 5 by a data issuing part 4, reading the bar code B on the printing medium (price card label 5) such as a label already issued so as to be retrieved by a memory part 24 and taking out the preset registration data from the memory part 24 by retrieval, and a control part 21 for retrieving the read out bar code B in the preset registration data for printing the preset registration data having the same bar code B data as those of the bar code B.
