PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce engine noise by attenuating a standing wave generated in the surroundings of an engine without using a sound absorbing spacer. SOLUTION: A recess 24 constituting the inside wall of a resonator having the specified volume is formed on a joint surface of an inlet manifold 20 to be joined to a cylinder head 10. A hole 28 opening toward the abdominal part of the standing wave generated in the surroundings of the engine, when the inlet manifold 20 is joined to the cylinder head 10, is formed on the bottom surface of the recess 24. An opening 24A of the recess 24 is closed with a gasket 12 interposed between the inlet manifold 20 and the cylinder head 10, and the resonator attenuating the standing wave by a resonance action is constituted.
