PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a lens for the eye from a mold in which the lens is set without being accompanied by chips protruding from the lens. SOLUTION: A recession is formed in the flange of at least one mold. When both molds are separated from each other after the lens is molded, an excess polymer retained around a space for forming the lens is made to adhere to the flange.
