PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor achieving space saving for an installation width if two passenger conveyors are installed in parallel. SOLUTION: The passenger conveyor comprises two endless moving handrails 4, 4a installed in parallel, balustrades 5, 5a forming travelling paths for the moving handrails and a balustrade illumination for illuminating footsteps at the upper parts of the balustrades. An illumination for balustrade portions neighboring each other of two passenger conveyors is provided in a middle between the two passenger conveyors for securing the minimum width 7 required for installation and maintenance even if the neighboring balustrades 5, 5a approach each other.
