PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a volume hologram recording material and a volume hologram recording medium, in which polymerization reaction can be made to proceed, even if a small amount of photopolymerization initiator is used during interference exposure and to provide a volume hologram film having little or no residue of the photopolymerization initiator or its decomposed product. SOLUTION: The photosensitive composition for volume hologram recording contains a binder polymer and a photopolymerizable compound, having spontaneous photopolymerization reactivity.
