PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition capable of achieving high impact strength and heat-resistance, especially high dart impact strength and heat- resistance at the same time. SOLUTION: The resin composition is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polyphenylene ether resin functionalized with an unsaturated carboxylic acid compound with (B) 0.001-5 pts.wt. of a compound containing I-valent, II-valent or III-valent metal element.
