PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a period indicator, which gives display different by the initial stage of a period, the middle of an available period, and the last stage of the period and has no restrictions on characters or graphics to be displayed and is quick to extinguish and show display. SOLUTION: With respect to the period indicator, at least two display parts of the first display part which has a property to repel liquid and the second display part consisting of a display forming layer, which is liquid-transmissive and has a low refractive index for light at the containing of liquid are provided on the surface of a liquid-transmissive base material, and this display base material contains liquid which is volatile at a normal temperature or is made volatile through heating.
