PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a mechanical two-stage and multistage parking device in a place having a low ceiling by constituting the upper pallet of the mechanical two-stage and multistage parking device so as to be dividable, thereby retreating the upper pallet when raising the lower pallet in the opening part of a pit. SOLUTION: This device comprises the lower pallet 8 elevatably provided in order to house an automobile 6 in the pit 7, the upper pallet 11 formed doubly dividably in order to close the opening part 10 in the upper part of the pit 7 to place the automobile 6 thereon and open the opening part 10, a housing area 12 provided in the pit 7 so as to retreat the divided upper pallet 11 from the opening part 10 of the pit 7, and a pallet drive part 13 for opening and closing the upper pallet 11 in the opening part 10 of the pit 7 and vertically moving it in the housing area 12.
