PURPOSE: A strip joining device, a process for joining a strip, to form an insulating and impermeable wall, and the insulating and impermeable wall are provided to make the insulating and impermeable wall more quickly, to achieve continuity of sealing of a second sealing barrier. CONSTITUTION: A strip joining device(20) has a tubular framework(21) with at least two longitudinal elements connected to each other by at least one transverse element(23, 24). Rollers(26) are connected to the framework along the longitudinal axis so the rollers roll against the surface of two sections which are to be glued together. The rollers roll on the surfaces of two structures spaced in two cross directions during working. The framework supports a unit(27) for receiving a strip support part(29); an application unit(68) pressurizing to apply the strip to the surface between two spaced structures; a heating unit(30) activating a contact agent contacting with the strip; and longitudinal retaining units(94).
