PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device which can be easily manufactured, and which is superior in durability and assembling easiness. SOLUTION: An O-ring 5 for achieving sealing performance between a housing 20 and a first ring 3 engaged with each other with play is made detachable, and an integration process for a rubber elastic body can be eliminated to facilitate manufacturing. Since the O-ring 5 can be replaced, even if it is spent, the sealing device 1 itself is usable up to the durability limit of a sealing lip 10. Since the housing 20 and the first ring 3 are engaged with each other with plays, deformation of the first ring 3 due to thermal expansion can be allowed, and breakage of the sealing device 1 due to stress concentration at the first ring 3 can be restricted, to improve durability. In this engagement state with plays, engagement load will not increase, and even when the sealing device 1 is totally assembled by manual work in a continuous casting machine or the like, ease of on-site assembling of the sealing device 1 is satisfactory. |
