PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new methine pigment compound which is useful for photopolymerizable compositions, recording materials, silver halide photosensitive materials, electrophotographic materials, spectral sensitizing pigments for photoelectric transducers, coloring agents, pigments for optical disks, and the like. SOLUTION: This pigment compound represented by the general formula (1) [R<1> , R<2> , R<3> , and R<4> are each H, an aliphatic group, or an aromatic group; L<1> , L<2> , L<3> , L<4> , L<5> , and L<6> are each a methine group which may have a substituent, or L<1> , L<2> , L<3> , L<4> , L<5> , and L<6> may form an unsaturated aliphatic ring or unsaturated heterocyclic ring having a substituent, when L<1> , L<2> , L<3> , L<4> , L<5> , and L<6> are each a methine group having a substituent; R<5> and R<6> are each H, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, COR<7> , or SO2 R<8> ; R<5> and R<6> may be bound to each other to form a ring; R<7> and R<8> are each H, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, or a heterocyclic group; Q is a divalent bond or a single bond; (m) and (n) are each 0, 1, 2, or 3]. |
