PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable energy absorption in a secondary collision caused by an increase in tilt angle under a constantly appropriate condition without requiring any high accuracy in shape. SOLUTION: A column bracket 3 fixed to a column housing 2 to support a steering shaft 1 is allowed to slide along a tilt hole 40 made in both sides of a tilt bracket 4, and tilt to be fixed is adjusted by fastening a lock bolt 20. An abutting projection 32 projected toward a stopper bar 5 for limiting the tilt angle is formed on the center part of the column bracket 3, the abutting projection 32 is collided with the stopper bar 5 when the column bracket 3 slides according to the secondary collision, and presses the stopper bar into a guide hole 41 continuous to the tilt hole 40. |
