摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regulate, without waste, a water level at a low cost in a ship course. SOLUTION: In a place where a bridge A is present above a water channel R allowing a ship S to pass therethrough, liftable gates G for dam are installed at the front and rear of the bridge A in the direction of a water channel, and inflatable rubber bags 10 are installed in water between both gates G. When the height of the bridge A above the water level is low enough to obstruct the cruising of the ship S, after the ship is led between both gates G in the state of the rubber bags 10 inflated by filling air therein, the both gates G are closed. In that state, air is bled from the rubber bags 10 to contract them to lower a water level W allowing the ship S to pass below the bridge A. After the water level is lowered to that level, the ship S passes below the bridge A. After that, air is filled into the rubber bags 10 to inflate them to return the water level to the original level W, and the both gates W are opened. In this case, a water depth H may not be measured in cruising on the downstream side of the bridge A since the water level W is too low. To prevent this problem, a riverbed on the downstream side of the bridge A may be dug to lower the riverbed so that the water depth H can be provided.
